JV Offensive Player of the Week
The Wentworth Panthers #22, James Hill turned in an outstanding performance this past weekend as the Panthers cruised to a 38 – 6 victory. With 13 rushing carries, 1 reception, 2 punt returns and 1 kickoff return, James recorded 202 yards total offense, 4 first downs and 3 touchdowns. Throw in an interception while on defense earns James this week’s ‘Player of the Week’
Consideration was given to Devon Egerter, #21 of the Niagara Spears and Kenny Eansor, #20 for the London Falcons who also turned in some excellent numbers.
JV Defensive Player of the Week
From all reports I missed the game of the week when the Ottawa Myers Riders came to Pineridge High School to play the Pickering Dolphins. When the dust settled after double overtime, two impressive defensive players will share this week’s ‘Player of the Week’ honours;
From the Pickering Dolphins, #54 Eric Johnson recorded 12 assisted on 12 tackles, made 4 solo tackles, sacked the Myers quarterback twice and assisted on two other sacks. He also knocked down/deflected an attempted field goal to accumulate 19 defensive points.
Ottawa Myers #44 Sam Sabourin recorded 12 assisted tackles and 1 solo tackle, sacked the Dolphins quarterback twice and assisted on one other sack. He also blocked a kick to record 14 defensive points.
